I downloaded the file, changed the permissions so that the .bin was an exicutable, and then ran the installer:
Now that it is installed, it added two icons in my “Applications -> Accessories” menu. The two apps are called simply: Adobe AIR Application Installer, and Adobe AIR Uninstaller. Now, on to get some apps to test:
Yes, it automagically works with Firefox!
There it is, a nice screenshot of an Adobe AIR app, in this case a simple to-do list. When it installs, it asks several simple questions and installs it like any other program. Afterwards, it adds an icon to your desktop (it’s optional in the installer) and then adds an icon in the appropriate menu. Very cool!
I want to say thanks to Adobe for bringing Adobe Air to Linux. If any of you are interested, go ahead and download AIR now!
