Recently while testing the Windows 7 Beta, I noticed that the WordPad application had several changes. For one, the software used the new ribbon interface. Pretty cool, I mean it could use some smoothing out, but it’s only in beta. What surprised me the most however, was the inclusion of the ODT format to save the text file in WordPad. Talk about a surprise! It’s something I would never expect: an open format — on Microsoft Windows WordPad.

I’m using Windows 7 and I’ve just noticed this, and I’m surprised as well. A good surprise.
