I have now moved to Ubuntu 8.04 Beta, which is the next version of Ubuntu. Here’s a few first impressions:
1. The bootup seems faster… ‘Nuff said.
2. The login screen has new art to fit with the default background, and it looks good.
3. With the added ATI driver for my Radeon XPress 200m graphics card, I can now use the desktop effects.
4. I cannot get my bcm4318 wireless card to work. I heard some improvements will be made here soon, and I certainly hope so.
I will post more on this as I use the system. So far, things are looking good!
