Firefox adoption on the up-and-up!

I have recently checked back at the http://www.w3schools.com/ site for web browser, and I was very excited with what I saw:

For June 2006 -

Internet Explorer: 64.1%
Mozilla Firefox: 24.9%

For June 2007 -

Internet Explorer: 58.5%
Mozilla Firefox: 34.0%

As you can see, IE decreased in market share by 5.6%, while Firefox increased its market share by 9.1%. That’s just over a one year period!

This just goes to show that when people are given a choice, they will go for the better alternative. Firefox is more secure and easier to use, and is also familiar for the IE6 user to use.

Not to mention, Ubuntu has Firefox installed by default!
