As a devoted Palm user since 2004, I have always loved handhelds, mainly the Palm OS platform, and currently use Linux (Angstrom w/ OPIE via hackndev.com), PalmOS 5, and Windows Mobile 5. Soon after buying my second PDA, the zire72 (zire > zire72) I became involved with the palm community - first at Taptarget’s iSpin program launcher, which makes you palm look like a computer, and then on to places like 1src.
As one might think, with my background, I went nuts over Ubuntu Mobile Edition, which I have. The idea of Ubuntu on a handheld device is AWESOME!!! I can’t wait for this to be released, and with this OS, they will give ino on which Internet Tablets will be supported!
In other news… there is a planned Ubuntu .exe installer on the Ubuntu CD, so that new users can install Ubuntu on a folder in their computer, and then run it as a dual boot… very cool. This would be a good first step for new users who are scared of moving to another system, and it also allows them to run Windows as well, for games and stuff. Very cool.
